Union fighting for
- Our safety
- Our livelihood
- Our patients
We are nurses and midwives standing for the leadership of the NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association. Our union is only as strong as the members in it, and right now too many of us feel unheard. It is time for a handover, toward the people on the floor.
A union is only as strong as the members in it.
Time for Handover stands for fresh leadership that answers to its members. Here is what we will put first.
Safety
More WHS officers and organisers on the ground, building strong and empowered HSR networks. This is essential if we are to curb role overload, address rising violence, and take an effective stand against workplace bullying.
Action
Putting practical campaigns at the forefront of our work. When good government fails to deliver, we stand up and fight for our professions and our patients.
Responsiveness
Rebuilding trust in our union by strengthening our assistance line. When a member contacts the union, they deserve to be heard and supported in a timely fashion. This is core union business.
Led by Viola Morris for General Secretary
A rank and file team, led by a nurse who has spent her career backing other health workers. The rest of the ticket is being confirmed now.
A nurse since 2006, an organiser for over a decade, and a fixture of her local health community.
From the wards at Sutherland and St George to the Langton Centre and thirteen years organising for members, Viola has spent her career making health workers stronger. She helped write the union's submission to the Royal Commission into Aged Care and helped start Homes for Health in Bellingen.
