A rank and file ticket for NSWNMA leadership

There is a u
in union.

We are nurses and midwives standing for the leadership of the NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association. Our union is only as strong as the members in it, and right now too many of us feel unheard. It is time for a handover, toward the people on the floor.

Time for Handover
Why we are running

A union is only as strong as the members in it.

We are not running against the work we love or the members we stand beside. We are running because too many nurses and midwives feel unheard by their own union. It is time to hand it back.

1

Members back in charge

One member, one vote. Councillors chosen by your district, and term limits on the top jobs. A union that answers to the people who do the work.

2

Independent, always

No affiliation to any political party. We work with all parties to improve health in NSW, and never hand out a How to Vote without iron clad, written commitments.

3

Delivering from day one

An organiser in every Local Health District, more safety officers, and member concerns answered within two working hours.

What we will do

Real promises, on a real timeline

A member led plan with no political strings attached. Here are a few of the changes we will fight for.

Core policy

One member, one vote

Every member's voice counted equally. The most democratic way to run our union.

Year one

An organiser in every district

At least one organiser per Local Health District, by restructuring the union around members.

Year one

Answers within two hours

Raise a concern and get a response, with clear next steps, within two working hours.

Year one

More safety officers

Increase Work Health and Safety officers by at least 50 percent, safety first from day one.

Fairer fees

Fees that match your hours

Look at part time membership fees like other states, and lobby for 100 percent salary sacrifice.

Cost of living

Pay that keeps up

Cost of living adjustments for when CPI outpaces the pay rises members are given.

Meet the ticket

Candidate for General Secretary
Viola Morris

A nurse since 2006, an organiser for over a decade, and a fixture of her local health community.

What we stand for

Dare to dream of another way we can be.

"We represent hope, change and collective action. We want every member to feel empowered in their workplace, and to dare to dream of another way that we can be."
